The Apple.

Ever since this brilliant 1980 film suddenly screened out of nowhere in NYC in 2003, my good friend Joe has been hosting midnight screening parties at theaters all over the city pretty much on a yearly basis (he is “NYC’s The Apple Super-fan”, after all), including one where he brought in legendary Israeli producers Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus (most know for their work with now defunct Cannon Films) and one of the lead stars of the film, Catherine Mary Stewart. Tomorrow night, Joe will be hosting another midnight screening at the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center, and to promote, they interviewed Joe about the film on why it’s such a great film, the history of it’s midnight success across the country, and much more. It’s a great interview not only to learn about this wonderful and very fun film, but you can also get an idea of the awesomeness that is Joe – especially his love of film. If you don’t have to time to read the whole thing, at least read his answer on the 5th question down (“What makes The Apple stand out from other cult movies?”) for the best example of all this.
